Manila Rope got its name “Manila” because it is a natural fiber rope from the Philippines. Since it contains an oil that is moisture-resistant to the weather, it is good for outdoor use. This is a feature that SISAL rope does not have. Manila rope doesn’t have the strength that a synthetic rope has, but is still a good all-purpose rope. It is used for decorative ideas that use a rope-like material that looks natural but, with a little bit of tender loving care, has the durability to last up to five years. This rope comes in sizes similar to sisal which ranges from 1/4″ to 2″.
Also, this particular rope is ideal for camping and old fashioned sports like Tug-of-War where 1 1/2″ widths are recommended.
